Canoe Adventure in expedition stile on the Upper Yukon River
from Whitehorse to Carmacks
- Transfer by float plane to the northend of Lake Laberge -
6 days canoe tour on the YUKON RIVER
| Itinerary: |
|
Flying with a float plane from Schwatka Lake, Whitehorse, to a ghost town at Lower Lake Laberge (approx. 30 min.) From there we start canoeing the upper part of the Yukon River for 6 days.
The upper
part of the Yukon River from Whitehorse to Carmacks is known as
the most beautiful and interesting portion of the Yukon River with regard to history and scenic. This is particularly meant
for the "Canadian Heritage River", the distance below Lake Laberge
to the Teslin River, which is also called" Thirty Mile River".
The ghost town of "Lower Lake Laberge", stranded paddle wheelers, a
ship-graveyard, and some dilapidated log cabins at the shores of
the Yukon River are contemporary witnesses of a long ago time,
when numerous paddle wheelers played the Yukon River, the only
connection to the gold fields of the Klondike.
Enjoy for
6 days a vivid experience of the wilderness, far away from
civilization. Camping in the wilderness and a campfire will give
you a glimpse about the hard way of life natives, gold diggers
and trappers had to endure.
